Argentine football is back. This Thursday starts League Cup 2024which will have 28 teams trying to win a title won by Rosario Central last December. The format will be the same: two zones of 14 teamsfree-for-all matches and an inter-zonal classic, with the top four in each group qualifying for the playoff phase.
Recently, the Professional League has announced the first six dates, an overloaded event, with weekdays, that it will present 84 matches in 27 days, from January 25th to February 20th. A curiosity, in this period there will only be three days (2, 7 and 16 February) in which football will not be played. First.
The seventh round, which will be played in the last week of February, does not yet have confirmed days and times but we already know that it will be one of the most awaited because it contains all the classic interzonals, including the River-Bocawhich will be contested in Monumental.
The calendar is so tight in this part of the year that, for example, on Monday 12 February there will be matches at the end of date 4 and the beginning of date five. The rush has to do with accelerating the 2024 programming as much as possible, which will have its America’s Cup force a stop.
