Formula 1: Charles Leclerc extends his contract with Ferrari for ‘many more seasons’

Charles Leclerc shared on his social networks this Thursday that he had renewed his contract with the Scuderia Ferrari beyond 2024, which generated joy in the Fans which the Monegasque driver will be able to enjoy for many more seasons.

“Scuderia Ferrari is pleased to announce that it has extended the contract with Charles Leclerc, who will therefore continue to race for the Italian team in the Formula 1 World Championship beyond the 2024 season,” The Italian brand expressed itself after signing the new contract on social networks, happy to continue with its top driver.

The driver from the French principality has been part of the Scuderia di Maranello since 2014, when he joined the Driver Academy of the Italian team, until 2018, the year in which he made his debut in Formula 1.

His debut in the top division took place with the Alfa Romeo team, again as a Ferrari Academy driver, thanks to the development agreement that existed between the Italian teams. A year later, in 2019, he would realize the dream that had kept him awake since he was three years old, that of becoming an official Ferrari driver and competing for the prancing Horse in Formula 1. He also became the second youngest driver to defend the colors of the Italian brand in the category, behind Ricardo Rodríguez who did so at the age of 20 in 1961.

Leclerc, since you saw the sandwich red from the Maranello team, obtained 23 pole positions, 5 victories, 7 fastest laps, 30 podiums and a second place for driver and team in 2022.

With the confirmation of the Monegasque driver’s continuation at the helm of Ferrari for several more years, the Italian team now has another objective to achieve: closing the renewal of Carlos Sainz Jr.
