Facundo Buonanotte takes advantage of his left boot and unleashes a shot from outside the area into the top left corner of the goal defended by Croatian Ivo Grbic, Sheffield United’s goalkeeper in the duel for the round of 16 of the FA Cup in England.

Thus the former Rosario Central player scored the 1-0 partial for Brighton & Hove Albion who were looking for a ticket to the next phase of the oldest tournament in world football (as the English claim).

It was the second cry of Goodnight for the Seagulls since his arrival in the team led by Italian Roberto De Zerbi, at the beginning of 2023. The talented young 19-year-old has had a first year to adapt to the Premier League and British culture and hopes that 2024 is the year he takes off.

Buonanotte scored his first goal for Brighton on 12 December in the 3-2 defeat against Chelsea on the 14th matchday of the Premier League.

A similar path seems to await Valentin Barco. El Colo, also 19 years old, will arrive at Brighton after having stipulated a €10 million release clause with Boca and after participating in the Under 23 Olympic Qualifiers underway in Venezuela. Everything suggests that De Zerbi will take it little by little, just as happened with Buonanotte.

Brighton managed to extend their lead with a penalty from Brazilian Joao Pedro, but Sheffield made it 2-2 before half-time thanks to goals from Hamer and Osula.
