The bases are. Facundo Campazzo and Marcelo Milanesio.
Facundo Campazzo returned to Córdoba, his homeland. There he will rest for a season with ups and downs in the NBA, culminating in the Denver Nuggets ’departure against the Golden State Warriors 4-1 in the first round of the Playoffs. This Sunday, when he arrives, he will watch Game 1 of the National Basketball League quarterfinals between Instituto and Regatas Corrientes. But it is not alone: with him is Marcelo Milanesio, his childhood idol.
There, in his Alta Córdoba neighborhood, Facu enjoyed his time watching the Instituto win against Regatas Corrientes by 98-91. And he did it with Milanesio, the historic player from Athens and he has admired since he started playing basketball. Although the 7 did not play at La Gloria, he was close because it was in his neighborhood and a few blocks from the Municipal Club, where he trained as a child.
Campazzo will spend his holidays in Córdoba and will leave these days before starting his training with Mariano Sánchez, the personal trainer he hired to improve his game. Mariano is the son of Huevo Sánchez -historic coach of the national basketball league-, and he coached players like Luis Scola, Marcus and Markieff Morris of the NBA, among others.
The future of Campazzo
theCordovan’s contract with the Denver Nuggets in the NBA ended. Right now, he’s an unrestricted free agent – any team can buy him. and all indicate that the Colorado franchise will not renew the contract. oo
However, his aspirations are to continue in the best league in the world. So far, he has no contact with any other franchise. But according to his representative Claudio Villanueva, many have already seen him.
For now, his future is uncertain, but it’s likely that some NBA franchise will take him. He earned the respect of some in the league based on his talent -including Damian Lillard, one of the best players in the world- and received praise from several American players and coaches. It remains to be seen which team will take it.
