THE Davis Cup it’s already played rosary beadsin view of the comparison between Argentina AND Kazakhstan. This Friday the cross draw took place which confirmed who it will be Argentine singers who will play the series.
The wait was placed in the election of the captain of the Argentine team, Guillermo Coriawho had to decide between three tennis players with similar rankings and paths, so their definition was unclear: Francisco Cerúndolo, Sebastiano Baez AND Tomas Etcheverry.
In the end, Coria opted for Cerúndolo and Etcheverry, despite Báez having stood out in training before the match against Kazakhstan.
The first match this Saturday, at 11am, will be played by Cerúndolo, Argentina’s top ranking, against Popko, Kazakhstan’s 2nd, then Etcheverry will face Stakov, Asia’s 1st. Village.
On Sunday it will be the turn of the doubles, starting from 11 in the morning, with González and Molteni against Nedovyesov and Skatov. After that match there will be clashes between the singles numbers 1 of each team, Cerúndolo against Popko.
If a fifth point is needed, Etcheverry and Skatov will take to the field, although Sunday’s names could be changed.

Argentina has cerundolo (22nd in the ATP ranking), Baez (25) e Engraving (28) and with the pair of Massimo González AND André Molteni (13) for the series against Kazakhstan heading to the finals of the competition.
Decidedly, one of Argentina’s strong points is the doublewith two players who are among the best in the world, having won five titles in 2023. In Rosario they will play their third Davis Cup series together.
“We knew we had a good level because we saw him train and we beat good pairs, but at the ATP 500 in Barcelona we finished consolidating. It gave us confidence and peace of mind for the bigger tournaments. Then we won the Masters 1000 in Cincinnati. We are with us. We want to get through the quarterfinals of the Slam. For his part, González stressed that “it is a special match” to represent his country; “You don’t play for points or money, it’s for the team,” something they don’t have for the rest of the year, he summed up.
As for the Kazakh team, the team will consist of Denis Yevseyev, Timofey Skatov, Dmitry Popko and Aleksandr Nedovyesov.
