Perron returns to the playoffs, as he missed the 2021 NHL Spring Dance because of COVID-19.

Ryan O’Reilly also scored, Torey Krug had three assists and Ville Husso stopped 37 shots for a shutout in his first playoff game.

The second game of the series will be played at St. Paul before it headed to St. Louis.

Marc-André Fleury is preferred on goal over Cam Talbot, who is 13-0-3 in his last 16 starts. He stopped 27 shots.

Fleury, the Vezina Trophy holder and winner of three Stanley Cups, was caught in a trade on March 21st.

Jordan Binnington, who led the Blues as a rookie in their Stanley Cup in 2019, acted as backup for Husso. For the first game, at least, inexperience was a non -existent factor in front of the Blues net.
