The Italian Jannik Sinnerwinner of his first Grand Slam title in Melbourne at the end of January, he consecrated his great moment with a victory in ATP500 Rotterdam after dominating the Australian in the final Alex De Minaur 7-5, 6-4, this Sunday, in the Netherlands.
Seeded number 1, the young tennis player from Trentino, 22 years old, will occupy third position in the world ranking on Monday (behind the Serbian Novak Djokovic and the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz), thus becoming the highest ranked Italian in the history of the ATP.
De Minaur will console himself with entering the top ten, as he will jump from eleventh to ninth place, which will be his best career placing.

Sinner broke his opponent’s serve halfway through the first set, for 3-2, and this allowed him to control the situation well until the end of the first set.
In the second set the two were less solid on serve and in the end Sinner dictated the law after just over two hours of play and four wasted match points.

The Italian prodigy adds his name to the gallery of champions of the traditional Rotterdam tournament, which includes illustrious tennis names such as Arthur Ashe, Jimmy Connors, Bjorn Borg, Stefan Edberg and Roger Federer.
The Russian Daniil Medvedev, second at the end of January in Melbourne and who did not choose to defend his title due to foot pain, takes over as champion in the Dutch city.
THE INDEFINITE STILL RESISTS. ????

It’s time for Sinner. He has 15 consecutive wins – with a 12-0 record in 2024 – and another 15 in the ATP 500. Furthermore, he has won 32 of his last 34 matches and has reached 12 titles in his career. Everything makes the world the new number three.
