Ang Liverpool from Jurgen Klopp He is excited about a new European title: this Tuesday he visits Villarreal for the semifinal second leg of the Champions League. In the first leg, the British won 2-0 and everyone was ready to reach the new final. The Reds are confident and hopeful the incredible streak of his coachthe undefeated every time he played a European semifinal as coach.

This is the fifth time the German coach will appear on the field to face a rivalry this time around. In the previous ones he played four finals, where he barely won one and fell to the remaining three.

The team reached the Champions League by winning Bundesliga last year. Klopp has been a sensation coach in German football and he surpassed Bayern Munich as the best team in German football for two consecutive years.

In the European Cup they had a very good group stage, which they shared with Real Madrid, Ajax and Manchester City. In six games, they won four and drew two, leading the group to the round of 16. Then Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine were shaken (draw and win) and in the quarter-finals against Málaga (also included a series defined with draw and win).

And this is the turn of the semifinal against another Spaniard, Real Madrid, which he had already defeated at home and matched as a guest in the first round. And it was a spirited and long endurance round trip, and Klopp’s team was the winner.

The first game was played in Germany and Borussia surprised José Mourinho’s Madrid with a resounding result (and game). It was a 4-1 highlight in Robert Lewandowski’s international scoring category, who converted four German team goals; the discount is from Cristiano Ronaldo.

But in the rematch, that Portuguese goal was about to be decisive, as the visit gave Real Madrid a sporting advantage, which seemed to have been liquidated at the Bernabéu but in the 38th and 43rd minutes of the second half it got 2-0. Klopp suffered but his team persevered and went to the final at Wembley. There he played against Bayern Munich, which he ousted from the throne in the Bundesliga but not from Europe: Borussia lost 2-1 and finished as runner-up.

Klopp’s first season in English football, at one of the biggest clubs in the country. The group is classified into European League, where they had an irregular group stage (two wins and four draws). However, they finished first (Switzerland beat Zion by one point).

In the round of 16 they eliminated German Augsburg (a tie and victory), in the second round Manchester City (with a local win and draw away) and in the quarterfinals their former team, Borussia Dortmund (a draw with Germany and an intense victory in stoppage time at Anfield). And so he reached the semifinals where, coincidentally, he faced the same opponent from its 2022 Champions League: the Villarreal.

The first leg was at the Madrigal and there the Spaniards achieved victory after 47 minutes of the second half. But the revenge came from Liverpool, who dominated the game from end to end and won in a clear and strong 3-0 which brought him to the final, where he fell to Unai Emery’s Sevilla 3-1.

Again in the Champions League, Klopp’s team had a solid group stage (undefeated and a leader, with three wins and three draws), in the second round they crushed Porto (5-0 and 0-0) and in the quarterfinals they eliminated. Guardiola’s City (with back-and-forth wins) reaching the semifinals, where he faces Rome.

Against the Italians it was a very tight series, despite the fact that the 5-2 win over Liverpool seemed like a last sentence. However, revenge on Rome was experienced despite a two-time lead (1-0 and 2-1). But the Romans fought until the end and scored 4-2 at halftime, with the feeling that if the game continued, they could score fifth.

But they failed and Klopp again won a European semifinal. What he could not overcome was the final: again, he was defeated. It was against Real Madrid, who beat him 3-1 at the Olympic Stadium in kyiv, in Ukraine.

After three failures, it’s time to celebrate. Given the Champions identified in 2019, Klopp could finally be crowned champion, after beating Tottenham in the final by Mauricio Pochettino 2-0.

Back then, in the group stage, he was second to PSG. In the round of 16 they beat Bayern Munich (draw and win) and in the quarterfinals Porto, with a double victory. This is how he reached the semifinals where he faced Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

And it was a test of character for the English, who lost 3-0 in the first leg at Camp Nou. Faced with massive rivals, everyone has suggested that Klopp’s consecutive passes to all the European semifinals he has played will be cut short. however, at Anfield the team was overwhelming and won 4-0.

And after losing three finals (one to Borussia and two to Liverpool), Jürgen Klopp was able to lift the Champions League for the first time.
