The full version of Totò Pozzo

“After several days and thinking about things again and again, I think about what I love and give my life to every day, if it’s for me. If my body is really giving me a signal that I did something wrong along the way. I do not know. Today a thousand things are going through my head and I’m very weak,” wrote the footballer on his Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts.

“I am a very sensitive and passionate person about what I do, I have always left everything aside for my dream until I achieved it and I have never given up in front of anyone. I have always been a good colleague, a good friend and a example of improvement for my family.

At my old club I had an incredibly fast recovery. I put everything aside and put in the love necessary to return as quickly as possible, doing 3 shifts a day. They released me on the field because my essence was always to give priority to the person in front of me and not to my body and my soul.

Then I really think about whether this is really for me. I do not know. Today I just know that I need time and to think about things. I was so happy, I felt so comfortable with people’s affection and love every day. Sometimes I think about whether these things will ever stop happening or they happen because I continually think that they might reappear in my best moments.

Today I need time to think about things, how painful it is to relive all this and whether it is really worth continuing. I’ve never written a word about absolutely anything because that’s not my way. I have a very closed personality and it’s hard for me to say how I feel. But this time I have a great pain in my chest that doesn’t let me breathe.

It hurts me a lot to be out of the field for so long again, but unfortunately we are always exposed to this. I have no choice but to face and assimilate the situation I have to go through and, at 23, either take advantage of it or try to see the bright side of all this shit.

The love and support people give me is admirable and really gives me a lot of satisfaction because it speaks to the kind of person I am. Today I have to surround myself with my inner circle again and try again.

Football is like that, it’s very cruel and we have no choice but to try again. Finally this storm will pass and it won’t knock me down. More will surely arrive and I will wait for them here firmly planted.
