There are still a couple of days to go Lionel Messi debuts in Major League Soccer 2024 with the Inter Miami shirt, his son Thiago does his thing in the club training categories: He scored a beautiful goal in the final of the Weston Cup, a youth tournament organized by the Weston FC club, and his team became champions.
Under the watchful eye of Leo, Thiago kicked a volley close to the rival’s goal and nailed the ball to the goalkeeper’s right post, sparking madness among his Under 12 team mates, including Benjamín Suárez, son of historic Uruguayan striker who has become a new reinforcement for Las Garzas.
Since the Rosario star arrived in the United States, all of his children have started playing soccer at the club’s academy. Furthermore, when he has free time, the captain of the Argentine national team goes to visit them, both in training and during matches against other teams.
But Thiago’s case is special. Although he’s not a big soccer fan, the 11-year-old boy shares training space with his father at the Florida Blue Training Center. Additionally, his division competes in the Florida Academy League, while the other divisions (U13, U14, U15, U16 and U17) will compete in the MLS Next league.
