The Rossoneri fans have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Last week they received the good news that the Agency for the Prevention of Violence in Sport (Aprevide) had lifted the ban on those drums, flags and musical instruments, when there was still a match to play, in this classic against Racing.

The punishment dates back to an episode that occurred in 2023, when in the match against Banfield in the previous League Cup, from one of the headers the fans lit and launched a nautical rocket. At the start of this season, club officials were warned by the authorities about the restriction on their audience.

But the absence of “color” for the classic was reason enough for the leaders to ask Aprevide to reduce the fine and for the fans to undertake to respect what was allowed and demonstrate good will. This motivated the Buenos Aires organization to attempt a sort of “test” to shorten the terms of the punishment.

“Being mindful of the sanction imposed last tournament on Club Atlético Independiente (…) in the next three matches played at home, the Aprevide authorities could reduce the measure, provided that the club and its fans continue with the behavior demonstrated last Saturday against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata”, the organization anticipated in a statement.

After the good behavior towards Lobo and the same line towards Rosario Central in the last match, the organization decided to keep its word and to revoke the sanction so that, against Racing, there were flags and musical instruments, as well as smoking on stage. pitch., even if this aspect is organized by the management and not by the fans.

“After an evaluation and, after verifying the good behavior of the fans in the last home matches, the imposed sanction was promptly respected. In this way, the Avellaneda club is authorized to introduce musical instruments and flags during the next matches” , the organization said in a statement Wednesday.

“Independiente’s behavior allowed him to have his flags and contribute all his color to the Avellaneda classic. As long as the clubs decide to support us and maintain appropriate behavior in the stadiums despite any sporting result, they will have our full collaboration”, said the head of Aprevide, Guillermo Cimadevila.
