After the recent complaint of alleged sexual abuse made by a 24-year-old journalist against the Vélez players Sebastián Sosa, Abiel Osorio, José Florentín and Braian Cufré In a hotel in San Miguel de Tucumán the investigation progresses. While specific details have not yet been provided, it is expected that one of the next steps will be the victim’s statement, possibly to the Gesell Chamber, with the aim that she can provide her comprehensive testimony in a single instance during the trial.
As explained by the judge, this procedure could slow down the progress of the case, since the young woman’s lawyer, Patrizia Neme, you must request an appointment to do so. Once all relevant evidence has been collected, including the victim’s statement, the prosecutor’s office must decide whether to proceed with the investigation or close the complaint.
Subsequently, The arraignment hearing will be held, in which the accusation of the accused will be formalized. This step is fundamental, since so far the four players have been reported but have not yet been charged with any crime.
Another fundamental fact is that in the last few hours some messages exchanged between one of the players and the complainant have also come to light. These conversations, available to Justice, are part of the ongoing dossier.
According to the young woman’s complaint the goalkeeper, Sebastián Sosa, would be the first to make contact with her through social networks to invite her to the Hilton hotel where they were concentrating.
“I’m Seba. So come to the hotel and let’s have something here?”, Sosa says in the revealed chat. To which the victim asks: “What hotel are you in?”. “At the Hilton”Sosa responds. “I’m going to the casino”she says.
What the lawyer said
Patricia Neme, the victim’s lawyer, said the complainant is currently suffering from post-traumatic stress as a result of the incident. She highlighted the support the young woman receives from the justice system, her family and her friends.
Neme reported that the contact between the victim and the Vélez players occurred in the mixed area of the José Fierro stadium., after the match between Atlético and Vélez last Saturday. After exchanging messages on Instagram, the young woman agreed to give her WhatsApp number to Sebastián Sosa, thus starting a conversation.
The lawyer also said that they suspect that the victim may have been drugged with an alcoholic beverage, which would have contributed to his distressed state. Tests, including toxicology tests, were performed, the results of which are still pending.
Although the young woman was unable to give consent during the alleged abuse and was stunned, the lawyer said she has fragmentary memories of the time she spent in the room. After two of the defendants went to the casino, the victim managed to contact an Uber and leave the place, feeling hurt and outraged.
Finally, the lawyer underlines that the victim decided to file a complaint after a trusted person convinced her to do so. They are currently in the evidentiary and investigative phase, with the case classified as “sexual abuse with carnal access aggravated by multiple perpetrators”.
