The Independent added new bad news for its economy. This is one of the pending decisions of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS, according to its acronym in English) is known and it is not in favor of the club because it gave reason to Gaston Silva for his old claim for the salary debt and in that way Red had to pay the Uruguayan $ 1,250,406.39 including court costs.
Just a few days ago Independiente was able to cancel Silva’s pass loan to Torino in Italy (600 thousand dollars left). But now there has been a setback forcing Hugo Moyano’s Board of Directors to repay the debt owed to the defender who was part of the Copa Sudamericana championship team in 2017, but eventually left for free due to lack of pay.
In April the leadership agreed Martin Campaignanother sued the club and emigrated without leaving income to Rojo, a payment plan for 200 thousand dollars. This is ten installments of $ 20,000 each. Currently, the directors are waiting for the bank’s ok to get the first payment.
In this regard, the sentence of another similar case is still awaited, that of Fernando Gaibor, who also left freedom of action and raised his claim to FIFA. The Independiente, for its part, took the gauntlet and filed a counterclaim. He did the same to Silva, which was finally right.
The other important conflicts pending resolution are those with Gonzalo Veron, who came in exchange for 900 thousand dollars and made a labor lawsuit for nearly five million North American money. And the huge debt to America of Mexico for the unpaid pass of Silvio Romerowhich exceeded five million dollars due to interest for breach of previously scheduled installments.
