Former mayor of La Plata Julio Garro joins the ranks of Javier Milei’s government having been appointed Undersecretary for Sport.
The leader of the PRO will be under the orbit of Daniel Scioli, who heads the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Sports, dependent, in turn, on the Ministry of the Interior chaired by Guillermo Francos.
The arrival of the one who was mayor of La Plata until December in the Milei government was facilitated by the strong ties that the leader of PRO La Plata has with Maurizio Macri.
Without any experience in the sports field, Garro will also be in charge of the presidency of ENARD (National Institute for High Performance Sports).
Garro has already been working for weeks near Scioli but the formalization came in the last few hours through decree 249/2024 signed by Francos and president Javier Milei.
