Monday promises to be a crucial day in the development of the case of the four players Velez accused of aggravated sexual abuse about a journalist from Tucumán. At 10 am the interview with the victim will be carried out via the Gesell camera, a measure considered of the utmost importance and which will aim to obtain a faithful and protected testimony from the young woman. If what the young woman claims is confirmed in the complaint presented, Sebastián Sosa, Abiel Osorio, Braian Cufré and José Ignacio Florentín could find themselves in serious legal problems.

The fiscal one Maria Eugenia Posse, in charge of the case, believes that the situation described is moving towards a possible confirmation, especially after the favorable results obtained with the first measures adopted. These include the examination of the images from the security cameras of the Hilton hotel, where Liniers’ team was concentrated during that weekend, as well as the raid carried out in the room on the fourth floor, the scene of the reported events.

For their part, the defense of Sosa, Cufré, Osorio and Florentin Bobadilla, aware of the relevance of this, ensure the collaboration of the Justice officials and have demonstrated that they will be present in this province to be available. The players will offer their telephone numbers to be examined and, if necessary, they will establish a domicile in Tucumán and leave their passports in safekeeping, to demonstrate that they cooperate with everything and that they have no intention of fleeing.although the prison sentence for this crime reaches 20 years.

“This is an important measure that will be carried out; they are aware of everything that this implies. But they also know that it is an act of defense. Regardless of the possibility of the measures that may be taken against them, they want to come be available to Justice”, explained José María Molina, defender of two of the four accused footballers. “For this reason they have presented copies of their tickets and reservations to demonstrate that they will be in Tucumán.”He continued.

So far the case is based mainly on the victim’s testimonywho told in detail how he met goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa in the mixed zone after the match between Vélez and Atlético Tucumán; how they privately messaged each other on Instagram to set up a midnight meeting; and how, once in the hotel and in the room (and already with the other three defendants), he consumed the drinks offered by the players before being abused.

In Justice’s notification to players, a distinction is established in the accusation: The other players are identified as co-authors, while the goalkeeper is attributed a participatory role.given that he facilitated the meeting but did not directly participate in the alleged abuse, despite being present in the room.

Sosa’s lawyer, Ernesto Baaclini, claims this the archer was asleep, a claim that may be contradicted by chat messages embedded as evidence. This discrepancy is crucial because it determines the degree of criminal involvement: if secondary participation were considered, Sosa’s legal situation would be less serious. However, if his direct participation was proven, if he were found guilty he would suffer the same legal consequences as the co-authors.

Exchanges in the form of chats represent a crucial opportunity for lawyers. According to their arguments, These chats could suggest an alleged consent for the relationships that have taken place. This interpretation, however, does not entirely coincide with the dialogues between the journalist from Tucumán and the doorman Sosa, which are divided into three conversations that cover different moments in time.

The first occurs before she goes to room 407 of the Hilton hotel. There it becomes clear that Sosa tells her that she is with three other colleagues but also that she has no intention of having relationships with more than one person. In fact, she explains that she is used to being surrounded by men but she makes it clear that they must not get lost, which implicitly leads to thinking that there is nothing consensual in principle about what happened next.

In her complaint, the young woman stated: “They offered me two cans of beer and then asked me if I had threesomes or if I was with women. I replied no, that I wasn’t attracted to them and that every time I was with someone was alone between two. That’s when they offered me the fernet in a white Stanley thermos,” he explained. At this point in the statement the woman made an important clarification, in her own words: “The players pretended to drink or passed the glass directly to each other and the glass always went to me”.

Then, in another chat with Sosa – when he leaves around 5:30 in the morning – there is a new message. And that’s exactly what defenses are targeting. He tells him “Please ask the Paraguayan tomorrow if he has used the lining to see if I take the pill or not.”to which Sosa replied, “It seems so, but I’m going to check.”

“Friend, take care of yourself. Take care of yourself, first of all and then of yourself. Never trust anything or anyone. You are a good person and you can see it by touch. Don’t wait to find out if you have used a lining or not, this way you will be covered for every situation.” desired,” the archer told him. The complainant stated in her messages that she was unaware of what happened in that room. “I feel like I’ve exposed myself too much and I’m distressed. I got very angry. I think he used a liner, but please let me know. This happened to me because I was an irresponsible idiot,” she replied.

There is nothing in that exchange to suggest that there was abuse but the drunken situation is a moot point since on the one hand it gives the impression that she gave consent but on the other – because of that state – may not have given to do so at any time. . This is what is at stake, because already in the third exchange, almost 12 hours later, the tone is totally different and the accusation is direct.

“I know my limits and I know that yesterday I set them for myself and neither he (for Bobadilla) nor the other one (here it is not specified whether it is Cufré or Osorio) stopped”. Given these two circumstances, what will determine the fate of the players and the continuation of the case will be the Gesell Chamber on Monday.

On the case

A 24-year-old girl reported that after Atlético’s match against Vélez, after contacting goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa, she went to the Hilton hotel where the delegation was concentrated. According to the news they decided to share a nice moment.

The victim arrived at the hotel after buying a bottle of fernet with the money that the doorman had transferred to him, he went through a side door to room 407, where Sosa and his teammates Braian Cufré, Abiel Osorio and José were. Florentin Bobadilla.

According to his story, He suspected that the players had put some type of drug in his drink that would make him lose his strength.. Since she felt unwell, she decided to lie down on a bed in the room. At that moment she suffered the attack. He left the hotel around six without anyone asking him anything. He took an Uber and headed to his house.

On Sunday he started feeling sick and on Monday he couldn’t take it anymore. She told a friend what had happened to her and then to her lawyer Patrizia Neme, which ultimately convinced her to press charges. You did it at the police station and on Thursday you confirmed it in court with an interview that was at the level of a statement.
