In December 2020, Robinho received a nine-year prison sentence for a case of sexual violence against a young woman of Albanian origin in 2013, which allegedly occurred in a nightclub in Milan. According to information from the journalist Carolina Brigidoof Uolthe tendency is for the STJ to ratify the sentence that Italy imposed on him, making the former attacker serve his sentence in Brazil.

The Special Court of the STJ, made up of 15 ministers, will analyze the Robinho case. The rapporteur of the process is Francisco Falcao, who must vote for the ex-player’s sentence to be served in Brazil. It is worth remembering that Robinho will only be detained if the majority of ministers follow the rapporteur’s vote.

Also according to Carolina Brígido, some members of the Court stated that they believe that there will be a majority of votes, making it possible to carry out the former athlete’s arrest.

Robinho did not serve his sentence in the European country because, at the time of his conviction, the Italian court asked that he be extradited to serve his sentence in the country in which he was convicted. As Brazil does not extradite its citizens, Italy requested that the sentence be carried out here.
