“I had the joy of being able to speak with Agüero. I would like to underline that he is a person of an intelligence that is not at all conventionalhe has surprising analytical depth and understands the nature of the approach we take,” Milei underlined at the beginning of his response on the possible arrival of SAD in Argentine football.

Milei was firm in underlining in an interview with Miter radio that his proposal is not to demand that the clubs be private, “but that there is the possibility that If anyone wants to have a private club, they can have it.“.

The libertarian president explained that his goal is not to impose a model, but rather “other social patterns that can interpret football with a different logic”.

A week ago, the President let it slip Manchester City “wants to buy a very big Argentine club”. And speaking of clubs, he added: “If they were clean they would allow competition, but because they are dirty they don’t allow competition. The best sign that there is a mafia is that they don’t allow competition.” At the end of 2023 he had referred to the interest of another Premier League institution, Chelsea, in landing in Argentina.

To possess Agüero spoke about the issue in a stream on his Twitch channel and mentioned a possible collaboration to bring the City Group closer to Independiente.

“If God wants this to be done, I would love to be involved there. I already know who to look for“, said Kun, perhaps alluding to City, of which he is an idol. And he added: “They are people of good faith and I have an excellent relationship with them. “They would certainly be delighted to help a club like Independiente progress.”

The possibility of creating the SAD is included in the mega DNU rejected on Thursday in the Senate and which now goes to the Deputies. In any case, the AFA, which opposes the government’s initiative, received a yes from the justice system.

A precautionary measure blocks DNU articles on SAD in Argentine football

Good news also arrived on Thursday for the AFA led by Claudio Tapia. Justice confirmed the precautionary measure which suspends the articles of the DNU which would allow the transformation of civil associations into sports clubs (SAD).

On January 30, federal judge Elpidio Portocarrero Tezanos Pinto, in charge of the Mercedes Federal Court, received the presentation of the Jumping League, affiliated to the Argentine Football Federation through the Federal Council (chaired by Pablo Toviggino), and applied a precautionary measure measure to interrupt its implementation.

The controversy that arose between the world of football and the DNU signed by Milei in his first weeks in office boils down to articles 335 and 345, which proposed the modification of the statutes of sports associations, federations and confederations.

It was the Federal Chamber of San Martín that confirmed this precautionary measure, underlining that the implementation of said articles “alters the status of a social impact group like sports bodies, because it prevents them from developing their associative life”.

Furthermore, it highlights that the debate on these articles does not respect the norms established by the issuing of a DNU: there is no need or urgencyand there is nothing to prevent its parliamentary treatment.

The SAD proposal in Argentine football is an old project promoted by Mauricio Macri and taken up by Javier Milei, turning it into a theme that was included in the campaign when the AFA clubs came out to support Sergio Massa in the run-off.
