Godoy Cruz suspended and separated from the team to the two young footballers accused of aggravated sexual abuse of an 18-year-old girl, after being arrested this Monday.
“Given the recent changes in the procedural situation of two amateur footballers of the institute, the Godoy Cruz Antonio Tomba Sports Club communicates that, at the request of its Board of Directors, it has resolved: the suspension of the exercise of their social rights and, consequently , remove them from campus in advance – as these are non-professional players and therefore without contracts -“, begins the statement from the Mendoza club on the situation of the Exequiel Tejeda and Julián Encina for a case that dates back to November last year.
It also informed “the Disciplinary Court of the situation for the purposes of the possible imposition of sanctions”.
Tejeda and Encina serve in the Reserve. They had been released after paying a bail of one and a half million pesos, but one of the conditions they had to respect was to maintain a fixed address.

Both reported that they would reside in some places which then changed without notifying the Prosecutor’s Office. This change was noticed by the victim’s defense lawyer, who filed a complaint issued the arrest warrant of the players.
Godoy Cruz’s statement ends with an expression of “deep concernfor the facts reported: “The club is willing to continue to collaborate with justice so that the facts are clarified”, he adds.
According to what we learn, Tejeda will remain in the 44th police station until his transfer to prison takes place. Encina, for his part, will be temporarily hosted in the Third Police Station of the City of Mendoza.
Arrest means new setback in case investigating Godoy Cruz reservists for ‘aggravated sexual abuse’ with carnal access and to be two or more people”: the tests carried out by Forensic Medicine found samples of their DNA on the body and clothes of the young woman complainant.
Furthermore, a doctor was able to ascertain an injury to the young woman’s left arm which may have been caused during the alleged abuse.
