For those who don’t remember, in February this year, Robinho participated in a get-together for the Santos team’s professional squad. As he had already been convicted of the charges, his presence generated strong controversy at the time.

Another notable episode was his quick stay at the club in 2020, which had to terminate the player after harsh criticism from fans and threats from sponsors. In a statement, the team explained that the former athlete was on the premises to accompany his son Robson – athlete in the under-17 category – in a medical examination.

“He only greeted the participants of the barbecue held at the venue for the cast, coaching staff and board of directors. The club makes it clear that there was no invitation, much less participation in the celebration”they completed.

Remember Robinho’s case

In December 2020, Robinho received a sentence of nine years in prison for a case of sexual violence against a young woman of Albanian origin in 2013, which allegedly occurred in a nightclub in Milan. However, the player has already received the sentence from the highest European court, but did not serve it the penalty in the country. Now, the STJ will analyze the case, which could result in the former athlete’s arrest in Brazil.

According to information from the journalist Carolina Brigidoof Uolthe tendency is for the STJ to ratify the sentence that Italy imposed on him, making the former attacker serve his sentence in Brazil.

The Special Court of the STJ, made up of 15 ministers, will analyze the Robinho case. The rapporteur of the process is Francisco Falcao, who must vote for the ex-player’s sentence to be served in Brazil. It is worth remembering that Robinho will only be detained if the majority of ministers follow the rapporteur’s vote.

Also according to Carolina Brígido, some members of the Court stated that they believe that there will be a majority of votes, making it possible to carry out the former athlete’s arrest.

Robinho did not serve his sentence in the European country because, at the time of his conviction, the Italian court asked that he be extradited to serve his sentence in the country in which he was convicted. As Brazil does not extradite its citizens, Italy requested that the sentence be carried out here.
