The Special Court of the STJ – made up of 15 ministers – also ordered Robinho’s immediate arrest, a decision that must be carried out by the Federal Court of Santos, the city where the former player resides. The athlete’s defense intends to appeal the decision and request that he await the judgment of this appeal in freedom.

It is worth remembering that in December 2020, Robinho received a nine-year prison sentence for a case of sexual violence against a young woman of Albanian origin in 2013, which allegedly occurred in a nightclub in Milan.

The player, however, did not serve his sentence in the country, because, at the time of his conviction, the Italian court asked that he be extradited to serve his sentence in the country in which he was convicted. As Brazil does not extradite its citizens, Italy requested that the sentence be carried out here.
