Rossi was a point of reference for Boca and became the third goalkeeper with whom he saved the most penalties in the club’s history 16 out of 56 who were expelled (only Roberto Abbondanzieri surpasses him with 24 out of 83 and Carlos Navarro Montoya with 20 out of 132). However, his departure occurred because of the back door in January 2023 on loan to Saudi football. There he was a companion of Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr for six months, but the sporting experience wasn’t the best and he lost his job.

At the end of the loan he returned to Boca and after failing to reach an agreement with the Football Council he went free to Brazil. “I miss Argentina, family, friends. I miss Boca, but also Lanús, Defensa, Chacarita.”said the goalkeeper who arrived in the South American country in July 2023.

Despite not being able to greet the Boca people, Rossi assured: “I got on well with the fans, when I see them they wish me the best, they tell me that they miss me, that things didn’t go in the best way”. He also underlined that he had given “everything for the club” and that he will always be “grateful”.

“Perhaps due to negotiations not being carried forward, we end up leaving the company where it was happy”the 28-year-old goalkeeper recalled.

On the other hand, he recalled how his departure from Boca occurred and indicated that he did not like the statements of Hugo Ibarra, then manager,. “When I went to the Emirates for the final with Racing, I discovered the day before that I wouldn’t be playing and I had the desire, the illusion of playing in a final. In the press conference, Ibarra said that he decided this way because I wouldn’t stay with Boca and the truth is that perhaps this was a bit annoying because if I had had any problems, it would have been from the first moment all those words exchanged with the representative, the president of Boca (Ameal), people from the Council came to light and I have always had my head in Boca.”

However, the goalkeeper’s statements that made the most noise were those that indicated he could have saved River. When asked if he would consider an offer from the Millionaire in the future, he responded as follows “I never close the doors to anything”.

And he completed: “Today I could say no to you because of the love and time spent at Boca, but from here to the future you never know”.

“Flamengo and Boca are the greats of each country. Flamengo is similar to what Boca represents”, he then compared and stated that they are two teams that “always play with a full stadium”.
