The court rejected requests against the decision it made to set bail so that he could stay out of jail. The appeals were made by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the victim’s defense.

It is worth remembering that he was released from prison at the end of March after paying bail of 1 million euros – approximately R$5.4 million. He was sentenced to four years in prison, but has already served just over a year.

Daniel Alves spoke for the first time after being released

The soccer player Daniel Alves gave his first interview after being released on provisional release. He was imprisoned for more than a year on charges of sexual abuse in a nightclub in Spain and was sentenced to more than four years in prison. However, he paid bail and is free.

With that, the athlete spoke to the Spanish newspaper El Periódico and said that he is calm. He said he needs to maintain his routine of going to court every week and that he doesn’t know how long he will be free because of the resources that still lie in court.

Daniel Alves said his only obligation is to appear in court every week. “That’s what’s up to me. I don’t have much else to do either“, he said. Then, he added: “Wherever I go, I survive. I adapt to everything, because for me it’s not the place that makes the person, but the person that makes the place”.
