Five days after Marcelo Tinelli’s resignation from the presidency of San Lorenzo, the club’s second vice president, Matías Lammens, contacted the opposition and llaunched a call for elections forecast for the end of the year. He announced this through a letter addressed to club members.
The country’s current Minister of Tourism and Sports wrote: “I think that’s it the best thing for the club is that its authorities are re -elected. The partners have elected a president already now it is not more than that duty and calling elections is the right thing to do. “And he asked to fix the differences in the polls:” It’s time to call all the sanlorencistas to a great deal that allows us to go through to the next market pass and the selection of coaching staff with peace of mind ”.
He also offered words to Tinelli: “Marcelo’s resignation puts us in a situation that requires, again, everyone’s commitment”, he contextualized first to, eventually, maintain: “I know that many angry in the moment and I understand them; they are right“. In another excerpt of the letter to San Lorenzo’s” partners, partners and fans, “Lammens left a self-criticism:” Of course that’s also there are mistakes and I accept; but always, always, I made the decisions with him Heart in hand“, wrote.

After Tinelli’s public slam of the door (he has not yet submitted his official resignation to the club), a series of internal meetings began in Ciclón with the aim of reorganizing the political structure. There have been rumors of more resignations, including that of Lammens, although those around him have denied Clarion emphatically he thinks of stepping aside now. Of course, official Alberto Fernández decided not to join the list in favor of the ruling party, so his participation in the Barça institution has an expiration date before 2023.
After several conversations between the Board of Directors, it was determined that the best way to deal with the political crisis that San Lorenzo is going through is to advance the vote set for the end of next year. This, too, must be approved by the Board of Directors. The formal call will be made in the next few hours.
Due to statutory deadlines, it is estimated that the election will not be held before October or November of this year. Meanwhile, Lammens in his letter called on opposition groups to join the Football Council that will be formed to make the immediate football decisions of a team that will have a very compromised average next season.
In the next few days, it will be necessary to choose a new coach (Néstor Gorosito is the name that is most captivating in the ruling party right now) and re-arm a squad that will require reinforcements of hierarchy and experience because there are so many young people.
Lammens ’intention in this decision was to break the hot climate in which San Lorenzo has long been involved, as a result of fan fatigue due to sporting failures and economic problems. In addition, in the last semester, various opposition groups came together to raise their claims and act, first at the Av. La Plata and then to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Lammens.
Thus, the director who, along with Tinelli, is the target of insults and insults from supporters at every local game, seeks to calm things down, calm the crowded atmosphere, reconcile and try to adapt. in all sectors that seek this action. “He’s talking about the election because he respects his partner’s wishes and he doesn’t want to cling to power”comment close to the national minister.
“Only the lack of governability makes a vice 2nd announce early elections. We lost a year, we deepened the crisis. Tinelli must formalize his resignation now! Now we must agree on the date and establish the call through institutional channel urgently, ”said César Francis, the member of the opposition who is part of the Board of Directors. This is the only voice of opposition within the leadership.
For the ruling party, however, the main thing is to rectify the football issue. For this reason, as the days go by and after important decisions are made about the first team before the next tournament starts, the idea is to talk to all parties about the election date.
San Lorenzo will close out its poor performance in the Professional League Cup this Friday against Racing in a New Gasometer that will once again serve as a thermometer for this difficult institutional moment.

To San Lorenzo members, partners and fans:
I resigned as president of San Lorenzo on December 28, 2019, two and a half years ago, when my term ended and I was serving as Minister of Tourism and Sports.
You all know that during 7 years I led the club I was working day and night to put San Lorenzo on top.
We were able to fulfill many of our dreams: the long -awaited Libertadores, final at Real Madrid and we bought the land in Av. La Plata. Everything that seems impossible is possible. In addition, the club has a historical record of members, a exponential wealth growth, we built the sports center in Boedo and put all the disciplines of the club in one great place. We were champions in basketball, futsal, volleyball and tennis.
of course also there are mistakes and I accept; but always, always, I made decisions with my heart in my hands.
San Lorenzo is more to me than a club, a football team or the 11 players that go on the pitch on Sunday. San Lorenzo is my history, my family and this, above all, the place where I took refuge and that’s what held me in the hardest moment of my life, when my father died in my 7 years. There it was not only going on the field on the weekend, but also grew up playing the Lorenzo Massa tournament in Ciudad Deportiva. I say this because it explains, in a way, why I’m always there when I think I can help San Lorenzo.
now, Marcelo’s resignation puts us in a situation that requires, again, everyone’s commitment with Saint Lawrence.
I think the best thing for the club is to re -elect their authorities. The partners elected a president who is now no longer in that office and calling the election was the right thing to do.
Meanwhile, it’s time for summon all sanlorencista in a good agreement allowing us to go through the next transfer market and the election of coaching staff with peace of mind. A Football Council will be established who will be invited to participate to all political groups to make decisions in that central area for the club.
Ang crows we know that when we are together, nothing can stop us. na there will be time in the election to sort out the differences. Now we need to unite: the best version of our club is always out there.
When we started our management, in 2012, there were 8 professional contracts on campus, native pots in Sports City by unpaid employees and young people bathed in cold water in the middle of winter.
But, with the support of EVERYONE, we got it. Only San Lorenzo fans know what has been achieved since then: from the most visible achievements, the sports, to the institutional and patrimonial.
Today I know many are angry in the moment and I understand them; they are right in being
I was the first to want to see San Lorenzo well. We all want that. Therefore, let’s fix the election differences. And in the meantime, let’s all work together to get the club back to the place it deserves and deserves.
A hug, Matthias.
