Monterrey moved up to third place with 29 points and Tigres to seventh, with 25.
Furthermore, the American champion beat Toluca 5-1 and jumped into first place, with two goals from the Chilean Diego Valdés, two more from the Colombian Julián Quiñones and one from Henry Martín.
América achieved nine wins, five draws, one defeat and 32 points, three more than Toluca, Monterrey and Cruz Azul, who this Friday beat Puebla 0-1 with a well-taken penalty by Uriel Antuna.
In the other match on Saturday, Argentine coach Fernando Gago’s Chivas de Guadalajara beat Pachuca 1-0 as guests and climbed to seventh place.
A goal against Jorge Berlanga marked the course of the duel, in which Uruguayan coach Guillermo Almada’s Tuzos added their third consecutive defeat in their stadium.
In the other results so far of the fifteenth matchday, this Friday Mazatlán beat Querétaro and Necaxa 0-2 and Santos Laguna 2-0.
