Former volleyball player Tande reappeared on social media after suffering a heart attack and reassured fans about his health status

Former volleyball player and Olympic champion Tande suffered a heart attack. He said that the episode happened on Friday, April 12, and he was diagnosed with blockage in one of the main arteries of the heart.

The athlete broke the news when he appeared on Instagram stories and showed that he is recovering well. “OK folks? Stopping by to talk about my disappearance. I, on Friday, ended up having a heart attack, can you believe it? 54 years old, athlete, eating a little wrong, exercising… But I started to neglect my health a little, I hadn’t taken care of myself for about four years. I had 98% blockage in one main vein (artery) of the heart and two more with 78% and 73%“, he said.

So, he had some advice for fans. “Pay attention to the signs. He gave me, from time to time, several signs: shortness of breath, palpitation, rising in the jaw and ear pain. Always take care of yourselves. Heavenly Father gave me a chance and I’m coming back. Next week I’m going straight back. Stay with God“, he stated.

It is worth remembering that Tande had a career in beach volleyball. Upon retiring from the court, he became a sports commentator.

Faustão has already been discharged from hospital

The host Fausto SilvaO Faustão, was released from the hospital after spending 54 days in hospital. He underwent a kidney transplant in February 2024 and had to be under medical care due to symptoms of rejection of the new organ. However, the doctors managed to overcome the situation and he left the hospital this Friday, the 12th.
