Shane Wright remains the highest -ranked North American skater in the final rankings of the National Hockey League (NHL) Scouting Bureau for the draft.
Wright, a center for the Kingston Frontenacs, is ranked 8th in the OHL with 94 points (32 goals, 62 assists) in 63 games this season.
He had two goals and eight assists in six playoff games. The Frontenacs will begin their Eastern semi-finals on Friday in the North Bay.
Wright, of Burlington, Ont., Will be the first Frontenacs player to be selected in the draft.
The session will take place July 7 and 8 at the Bell Center. Habs could handle the very first option.
Wright also leads the North Americans in the midseason rankings.
The last OHL player selected No. 1 was Connor McDavid of the Oilers in 2015.

Center Nathan Gaucher, of the Quebec Remparts, is the highest-ranked player in the QMJHL, at 16th place.
TPS left winger Juraj Slafkovsky in Finland was ranked as the best international skater.
The Kosice, Slovakia is second in the mid-season standings. The Olympics MVP, he led that tournament with seven goals, helping Slovakia to bronze.
Slafkovsky may be the second Slovak to be selected in the top 5 after Marian Gaborik (3rd in 2000, of Wild).
Logan Cooley and Cutter Gauthier of the U.S. Under-18 team were ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively among North American skaters.
Tyler Brennan, who plays Prince George in the WHL, is North America’s highest -ranked goaltender.
He was followed by Ivan Zhigalov, of Sherbrooke Pheonix.
Finland’s Topias Leinonen is Europe’s highest -ranked goalkeeper.
The final rankings include the top 224 skaters and 32 goaltenders in North America, as well as the top 140 skaters and 10 goaltenders worldwide.
