Mike Smith once again had a great meeting that drove off 44 shots.

A good start

The Oilers had their best first period since the start of the series. Although they outshot 19-7, they finished the first period with a 2-0 lead, thanks to goals from Draisait and Hyman.

In the second period, Edmonton scored three goals in three minutes and twenty -four seconds. Kane first scored his third of the playoffs, then Zach Hyman went for his second in the game to hunt down goaltender Jonathan Quick. The latter allowed four goals in 17 shots.

Evander Kane met Cal Petersen by scoring just two minutes and nine seconds into the game.

The Kings hit the target twice before the end of the period. Anze Kopitar ended Mike Smith’s streak disallowed by a goal for 95 minutes and 21 seconds. Phillip Danault, along with his second in the series, is another scorer.

In the third period, the Kings seemed to believe in their chance to get back into the game, but Ryan Nugent-Hopkins put the game out of reach with two goals recorded in 81 seconds.

Kane completed his hat trick with 20 seconds left in the game.

A success without too many McDavids

Connor McDavid was limited to two assists in the game. He mentioned that it is important for everyone to participate in the success of the team.

Sixteen of the nineteen players who have played at least one of the three formation games have participated in scoring since the series began.

The captain also said the fight could have changed, if not for Mike Smith’s work.

The Kings played better than the stated score. They were very threatening especially in the first half, but we fought back.

Don’t Sell Bear Skin Too Fast

Happy with his team’s performance, head coach Jay Woodcroft declined to say that the Oilers put the series out of reach for the Kings.

Let’s celebrate the win for about 15 minutes tonight and then get back to work for Game 4. The results of previous matches are meaningless when the new one has already started.

Woodcroft is keen to pay tribute to his goaltender who has now blocked 105 of the 111 shots he has faced in the first three games.

Mike was very good in all three games. When we needed him, he was there.

The Oilers in the dark

The Oilers were in the dark when they hit the ice at Cryto.com Arena for their morning practice. Players are ready before 11:30 am, the official start time for training.

It appears that workers in the arena were instructed not to turn on the lights until the training officially began. Oilers players therefore have to skate in the dark for a few minutes.

The employees also hid the two goals from them, only agreeing to install them on the ice at 11:30 am

Everything is good to try to distract us, it’s fair gameOilers forward Zack Kassian said after practice. This is not the first time. We experienced the same thing a few years ago in San Jose.

The fourth game will be shown on Sunday.
