Joe Pavelski hit the target twice and the Stars won Game 3 of the series against the Calgary Flames by a score of 4-2 on Saturday.
In the first two games, shown in Calgary, the attackers of the two formations were cautious, scoring only three goals, including one on an empty net. However, they found their treasure in this meeting presented in Dallas.
The matchup began with another feud between Matthew Tkachuk of the Flames and John Klingberg of the Stars.
In the first game, the Flames player’s solid evaluation against the Stars player led to two battles [Tkachuk et Micheal Raffl ainsi que Klingberg et Rasmus Andersson].
In the second game, both players were kicked for rough play early in the game. This time they actually came in blows and got huge penalties.
This is the fourth line of two teams to score the first goals of the game. First Radek Faksa took the lead with the Stars, then Trevor Lewis responded for Calgary. It was 1-1 after 20 minutes of play.
The two teams exchanged goals again in the second period. Elias Lindholm scored his second in the playoffs in the early stages, then Joe Pavelski returned both teams in the early stages, also with his second goal in the playoffs.
Pavelski hit the target again in the third period to restore the lead to his team.
Roope Hintz completed the scoring with an empty net goal.
Duel of guardians
Despite the fact more goals were recorded than in the first two games, we still had a great goalie duel between Jake Oettinger of the Stars and Jacob Markstrom of the Flames.
The Dallas goaltender was busier, facing a total of 41 shots. He was brilliant throughout the game, especially against Johnny Gaudreau who was alone in front of him at the end of the game.
His opponent blocked 28 of 31 shots aimed at him.
Game 4 of the series will be played Monday night in Dallas.
