Max Verstappen again thwarted Charles Leclerc’s attacks to win the inaugural Miami Grand Prix, his third victory in five races this season.

We wondered if the Miami Grand Prix would be interesting, given the narrow track and lack of local asphalt that left no room for maneuver for pilots outside the ideal trajectory.

The pilots worked in a real furnace at a temperature of 47 degrees with bitumen level and 66% humidity.

The start allowed Charles Leclerc, in pole position, to lead the race, but his Ferrari SF75 had a clear deficit in top speed compared to Max Verstappen’s Red Bull R18.

The Dutchman eliminated Carlos Sainz Jr., who started in the front row, on the first lap and soon after attacking Ferrari. On lap 9, he took command of the 57-lap event.

Two vehicles are driving side by side on a circuit.

It was a long procession then in the corridors of the circuit surrounded by protective walls.

It took safety vehicle intervention after the collision of Pierre Gasly and Lando Norris on lap 41 to continue the fight between Verstappen and Leclerc from lap 47. At restart, the Red Bull driver remained in the lead, but Ferrari was stuck with him for four laps.

A small mistake passed from Verstappen and Leclerc, but the fault did not come. The Dutchman was able to give himself a small margin and ended the race completely exhausted.

Carlos Sainz junior finished in 3rd place ahead of Sergio Pérez, who did not find an opening at the end of the race.

The rivalry between Red Bull and Ferrari continues.

Charles Leclerc remains at the top of the drivers classification, with a 19-point advantage over Max Verstappen. There are only 6 points in the constructors standings between top Ferrari and Red Bull.

The Quebecer Lance Stroll had to start from the pit lane, after a fuel temperature problem prior to installation on the starting grid. So he lost the advantage in his 10th place earned in qualifying.

He finished in 12th place, after some fears, especially in a collision with Kevin Magnussen (Haas) after a good fight with Dane. Nicholas Latifi of Toronto finished in 14th place.
