The Mystics won 78-66 against the Lynx

Natasha Cloud had 19 points, all in the first quarter, and Shakira Austin recorded her first double-double in her first start for the Mystics to help Washington beat the Minnesota Lynx 78-66 on Sunday.

Cloud also added 6 rebounds and 6 assists to his record while Austin had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Ariel Atkins had 20 points and 5 assists, Myisha Hines-Allen finished the night with 11 points and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough with 10.

Jessica Shepard led the Lynx with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Cloud had three three-pointers and a three-pointer to give Washington a 24-19 lead after the first quarter. After just a minute into the second quarter, the player had already added five points to the scoreboard.

Shakira Austin replaced Elena Delle Donne, who did well in the Mystics ’last game, scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. Delle Donne had two hernia surgeries last year and has only played 52 minutes since 2019.
