Anderson, 28, scored 19 goals and had 13 assists in 68 games last season with Bleu-blanc-rouge. He is the only Habs representative to wear the national team colors at the tournament, which will take place in Tampere and Helsinki, Finland, from May 13-29.

In total, there will be four players from Quebec on the Canadian roster: forward Pierre-Luc Dubois, from Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Maxime Comtois, from Longueuil, and Nicolas Roy, from Amos, as well as defender Thomas Chabot, of Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce.

In the case of Dubois, Comtois and Chabot, it will be a second experience on the senior national team. In total, they would be five in this scenario, if we add Matthew Barzal and Damon Severson.

Defender Morgan Ellis, who was selected in the 4th round (117th overall) by the Canadian in the 2010 NHL draft, will also be part of training. Ellis participated in three meetings with the Habs in 2015-16, before being exiled to Europe to pursue his career.

In addition, former Canadian coach Claude Julien will lead Team Canada, and he will be supported in his roles by Quebec assistant coach André Tourigny. The latter is the head coach of the Arizona Coyotes, who finished 31st and second last in the NHL this season, leading the Canadiens.

Canada will open the World Championship against Germany on May 13. He also has appointments with Italy, Slovakia, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Denmark and France in the preliminary round.

Since 1931, Canada has won the World Cup 27 times. He also collected 15 silver and seven bronze medals.
