Erling Haaland was already a player for Guardiola’s Manchester City in the first strong shake -up of the transfer market

Manchester City made official on Tuesday the acquisition of Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, who will join the squad led by Josep Guardiola from 1 July.

In a brief statement, the English club reported that they had reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Haaland starting July 1.

Around that date, Argentine striker Julián Álvarez, previously hired by the “citizen” club and on loan to River Plate, will also join the squad.

In this way, Manchester City confirmed the version promoted by the English press on Monday about the scorer’s decision to play in the Premier League. The terms of the contract will be announced when Haaland ends his relationship with Borussia Dortmund.

After disappointing after being left behind at the door of the European Champions League final with a painful elimination against Real Madrid, the economic group with capitals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) leading the Manchester club decided to come out and break the pass market acquisition of one of the gems of Europe.

Haaland, almost 21 years old, was wanted by the most important teams in Europe and finally decided on the offer of the team led by “Pep” Guardiola.

In the Bundesliga, the Norwegian footballer has 61 goals in 66 games, while in the Champions League he has scored 23 goals in 19 games. In total, along with Borussia Dortmund’s yellow shirt, he had 85 performances in 88 appearances.

In the current season, despite suffering from various muscle problems, the 194-centimeter-tall striker has scored 28 goals in 29 games.
