The German, finalist in Madrid on Sunday, in the semi-final will face Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (5th), winner over Italian Jannik Sinner (13th) in two sets of 7-6 (7/5) and 6-2.

This will be the third duel in the semi-finals of the Masters 1000 tournament in less than a month between Tsitsipas and Zverev. The Greek won in Monte Carlo in April, while the German took revenge in Madrid last week before losing in the final against Carlos Alcaraz.

Zverev won the Italian Open in 2017.

It will be recalled that Canadian Denis Shapovalov currently faces Norwegian Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals.

Félix Auger-Aliassime will face Novak Djokovic on the evening program in the Italian capital. This will be the first duel between the two players and the first time for Quebecer to face a rival who is leading the world rankings.
