The Montreal Alouettes announced on Friday that they have reached an agreement with eight of the players they have drafted in the 2022 CFL auction, including linebacker Tyrell Richards.
Richards was chosen by the Alouettes overall in the draft. They exchanged their right to speak at No. 4 and the rights to face Carter O’Donnell with the Edmonton Elks so they can draft Richards.
In three seasons at Syracuse University, Richards had 54 tackles, 9.5 tackles for one loss and 6 sacks, in addition to having one interception, knocking down three passes, forcing a fumble and recovering one.
The Alouettes also signed linebackers Yanis Chihat (7th round, 60th overall) and Zach Lindley (8-69), offensive linemen Rodeem Brown (2-18) and Peter Kozushka (6-51), receiver Vincent Forbes-Mombleau (3-24). ) and Tyson Philpot (1-9), as well as defensive back Tysen-Otis Copeland (4-33).
Ryth-Jean Giraud was the only player drafted by Alouette on May 3 who did not sign a contract. Alouettes selected the player from Université de Montréal Carabins in the fifth round, 42nd overall.
