Juanfer Quintero will once again dress up as a footballer on Thursday in River’s duel against Colo-Colo for the Copa Libertadores at the Monumental. The Colombian was discharged this Sunday after responding to physical and technical training needs at River Camp in Ezeiza. This way, the lefty will be part of the list of concentrates that Marcelo Gallardo will give between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Then, the coffee “Wizard” will definitely return as part of the replacement bench against the Chilean team and come in to regain the rhythm of the competition and contribute his unparalleled clarity and hierarchy so that River is definitely included in the best 16 teams of Libertadores 2022.

Despite playing 13 (only three as starters) of River’s 20 official games this year, Quintero was the best of the reinforcements because he actively participated in six goals, of which five were his (four penalties), although his most important contribution could be seen in the huge improvement of the football team he was with on the field, especially when he entered the second half. As happened when he served Suárez 2-1 against Banfield and the great goal he scored against Newell’s, just to cite a few examples.
Quintero suffered a hamstring in his left leg on Tuesday, April 19, at the start of the match against Talleres in Córdoba and River defeated it in crucial defining moments in the League Cup, where he was eliminated along with Tigre. Today, Gallardo recaptured the Colombian for the final matches of the Copa Libertadores group stage.
For his part, Suarez will have to wait. This is the Cordoba man who is still not one hundred percent recovered from the small tear he sustained in the right soleus in the run-up against Fortaleza (less than two weeks ago) and is only available for the match against at Alianza Lima, on Wednesday 25th at the Monumental.

Because of his background, and largely because of the ongoing physical care that the 34-year-old striker must receive after his surgery on his right knee, they want to take Suárez on a gradual basis.
