Andrew Brunette, Gerard Gallant and Darryl Sutter are the finalists for the Jack Adams Trophy, the National Hockey League (NHL) announced Thursday morning.
This honor is given annually to the head coach who has made the greatest contribution to the success of his team.
Brunette led the Florida Panthers after Joel Quenneville resigned on Oct. 28 and led his squad to team records for wins (58) and points (122). The Florida team also won the Presidents ’Trophy, awarded to the best team in the league of the season.
For his part, Gallant led the New York Rangers to 52 wins, the second harvest in team history (53 in 2014-2015), in his first season in office. He won the Jack Adams Trophy while coaching the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017-18, and was runner-up as Panthers coach in 2015-16.
For his part, Sutter led the Flames to the second collection of points (111) in team history after 117 during their Stanley Cup conquest in 1989. The one who was in second stay behind the Alberta bench was a finalist. for the honor in its first stint in Calgary in 2003-04.
Rod Brind’Amour of the Carolina Hurricanes was awarded last season.
The winner will be announced at the Conference Finals or the Stanley Cup Final. The exact date has not yet been announced.
