Ignacio Nacho Montenegro, Just 17 years old, is part of the new generation of pilots that includes the TC2000’s “band”. Because just as there are cracks in politics and in other areas, there are also cracks in national motorsports. It is so. There are riders running “on the edge of the TC2000”, and others who make up the Road Tourism categories.

In this case, the TC2000 feeds children walking the “natural” ladder of its ecosystem. From the National Formula, to the TC2000 Series, to the aspirational TC2000. And now, combined with an interesting synergy with Top Race, amazing new names are starting to emerge.

This is the case of Ignacio Montenegro. Nacho, for everyone. The 17-year-old boy, who knows how to stand out in Formula, has shown his talent in the TC2000 Series now and suddenly, he appears mixed in with the great consecrated TC2000.

The rookie driver of the Axion Energy team was the best in the Saturday session of the TC2000who launched a new classification system, similar to that used by Formula 1, with three cuts, where he dominated at two and second at one.

Great performance with the Fluence of the former official Renault team, giving up against, first, Bernardo Llaver’s Chevrolet, one of two cars currently dominating the category, along with his teammate and champion, Agustín Canapino.

And then, in the exclusive final qualifying cut with the five fastest, young blood changed the category. Since the first two places are dominated by the aforementioned Montenegro and by Jorgito Barrio, the jewel competing for Toyota Gazoo Racing.

Both Llaver, Canapino (both with Chevrolet) and former monarch Leonel Pernía, were left with the Montenegro team.

Thin, with hairs in the wind and a yellow color after a few dyes, Nacho commented with joy typical of his first big partial pleasure with the TC2000: “I’m so happy for my first post, it’s the one I always remember, but the hardest. I have a very powerful car, this result is due to all the work done by the boys on the team. Now think about Sunday.

Rada Tilly’s pride

Born in Rada Tilly, Chubut, on November 23, 2004, Montenegro started speeding at the age of 9, when he entered karting. From there he maintained the link with speed, racing in international karting and then adjusting his size on the TC2000 ladder. At 16, he became the youngest driver in the Super TC2000 back then, competing as a guest.

“We never trust each other, I think that’s the key, not trusting each other at any time. We knew we had a good chance of getting into Q3 and when I got in I was solid, it was just winding around because the car was about to respond. There are fewer nerves when you have a powerful car ”, added Nacho, who is also racing the TC2000 Series.

beyond surprise pole position of Montenegro, TC2000 will play a special date, with two consecutive competitions. The first final of the TC2000 in Neuquén will start on Sunday from 11.18, with Montenegro from the front. And the result of that race will determine the grid for the second race, which will start immediately. But each pilot will have the obligation to enter to change the right front wheel, which provokes the necessary strategy to try to get the greatest number of points in total.

Activity at the Centenario, Neuquén, will begin at 9:30 am, with the TC2000 double competition, including the finals of the TC2000 Series, Formula Nacional and Fiat Competizione. With live transmission by Carburando, El Trece and TyC Sports.
