Borelli joins this beautiful title as he has already won 5,000 flats of South American 2019 in Lima. He was accompanied by Ocampo, leaving the bronze medal for Spanish Marta Galimany with 1h13m23. Thus, Borelli extended a very good cycle of recent months that includes his success in the Buenos Aires Marathon, his national record for that distance in Seville (in February) and, on the track, becoming the first South American to fall in barrier of 9 minutes at 3,000 flat meters, last month in his hometown.
The athlete, trained by Leonardo Malgor, will now focus on preparing for the World Championships in Eugene/Oregon, where he will run the marathon, and Daiana also has a chance to qualify for the beautiful event in July.
