On June 5, the First Division tournament will return to Argentina.
After Boca’s 3-0 win over the Tigers in Córdoba and its commitment to the Professional League Cup, the 28 Argentine First Division teams began to plan their preparations for what was to come: with almost no sun, most were in preseason that while The Leaders are working on a transfer market, everyone is thinking about the next tournament, the Professional League, which starts on the weekend of June 5th.
Given the proximity of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which starts on November 21, but where there will be different teams to concentrate on until a month before, the calendar is tight for the formation of the next First Division Championship.
Everything will happen in 140 days, between June 5 and October 23, with the same 28 clubs playing all against all in a round of 27 days. There are no zones. Therefore, each team will take the field every five days on average.
Six days will be played during the week: date 3 (Wednesday, June 15), date 9 (Wednesday, July 20), date 14 (Wednesday, August 17), date 19 (Wednesday, September 14), date 23 (Wednesday , October) and 25 (Wednesday, October 12).
And the locations will be reversed with respect to La Liga Profesional 2021. In this way, The Superclásico between River and Boca was in Bombonera on the 14th.

The team that gets the most points will be the champion -in case of equality in the first place, a playoff match will be played on a neutral field to decide the title- and there will be certainty in its place in Champion’s trophywho will face Boca, the LPF Cup winner.
If Xeneize is to repeat the title, a playoff match will have to be played between the Tigers, recent runner-up, and whoever finished second in this new championship. In case the Bullfighter is second again, Tigre and Boca will dispute that star.
In turn, the record of points earned throughout the year will be maintained, which will serve to define those classified for the 2023 international competitions.
Boca, as Professional League Cup champion, earned its spot in the Copa Libertadores next year. The three best teams classified in the annual table will join Xeneize, without the tournament champion or the Argentine Cup, which will have direct tickets.
