Three Argentines will play this Wednesday for the second round of Roland Garros: Camilo Ugo CarabelliSebastián Báez and Diego Schwartzman, while the other two in the race out of a total of 11 made it into the main draw, Cordovan Pedro Cachin and Federico Delbonis, will do so on Thursday.

Ugo Carabelli (155), out of the classification, achieved his first victory in a Grand Slam against Russian Aslam Karatsev (41) and it was his turn to face Canadian Félix Auger Aliassime (9) in the first round from 6 in the morning.

Báez (36), this year’s champion in Estoril, Portugal, defeated Serbian Dusan Lajovic (64) in the first round and will play from 8:15 a.m. against German “top ten” Alexander Zverev (3).

In case of advancing to the third round, Báez will play on that occasion alongside American Brandon Nakashima (74) or Dutch Tallon Griekspoor (64).

“Peque” Schwartzman (16), winner of the first round of Russian Andrey Kuznetsov (228), will be measured this Wednesday from 9.15am alongside Spanish Jaume Munar (87), with ESPN and Star +transmission.

Schwartzman, who will try to emulate his last two performances in Paris, the 2020 semifinals and the 2021 quarterfinals (both times he lost to Spaniard Rafael Nadal), could find himself, if he beat Munar, with the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (20) or Croatian Borna Coric (275) in the third round.

In the case of advancing to the third round, Ugo Carabelli’s rival will come from a cross between Serbian Filip Krajinovic (56) and Croatian Borna Gojo (222).

Roland Garros, a type of World Cup in clay, is handing out prizes of 21,256,800 euros and has a very good attraction is Serbian Novak Djokovic (1), defending the title, multiple Spanish champion Rafael Nadal (5), who has a collection of 13 titles in Paris, with her compatriot Carlos Alcaraz (6), brilliant, and among the women in the destructive Polish Iga Swiatek (1), who had an undefeated 29 games last 2022.
