Kylian Mbappé looks like a good kid. And still young. too. Perhaps because of that inexperience, he opened his mouth more and made reckless statements about soccer in South America and Europe.

As Loco Abreu said “this is lacking in Wikipedia”. With little interest I will find an anecdote half a century old. Is the next. The Argentine National Team squad toured Europe and staged a match against Germany. René Houseman (whose adventures he can know a little about) was scared to tell César Luis Menotti: “They’re a machine, they’re very powerful”. Menotti replied: “Powerful? Don’t talk nonsense. We take any of those blondes to the house where you grew up and after three days they take them on a stretcher. You’re strong who survived all adversity and played ten thousand times that is better than these people.

Other football stories with similar characteristics can be added.

How did Osvaldo Zubeldía’s Estudiantes silence Old Trafford? Why is Enrique Omar Sívori still respected in Italy? Why did Alfredo Di Stéfano lay the foundation of what Real Madrid is today? I can move on. Mbappé was born in Paris, he is French and France is a world power. What is Mbappe talking about?

It would be great if Mbappé played one season in Argentina. Or in Uruguay. That he would throw a corner at the Colón or Defense and Justice field and drink what came from the salivary glands of the fans. That the crossing of any central bank, the elbow of a lateral, the appearance of the referee shouting “okay, okay”. Came to the locker room and no hot water. Get paid from time to time. Let him tighten the bar if the hand is bad. Or even beat him in the semi-finals and Champions League finals like he has lost in previous years at PSG.

Mbappé is a rich kid who plays rich football. That’s the difference, but the wealth, especially of the club-states, where he decided to stay, doesn’t make football better. Mbappé is world champion, he is a crack, he is the new star. Ignorant also. As a child, he would still learn that football, good football, was the exclusive property of Europe. Maybe I can explain this to boss Nasser Al Khelaifi. But I think not.

Come Mbappé, play here for a few years, in the Chiqui Tapia championship. Let’s see what you do. Talk to you later.
