The creation of this space is due to the strategic cooperation agreement signed by both institutions on February 12, 2020 and extended on December 15, 2021, during which they will develop common projects.

UEFA and Conmebol aim to organize a diverse series of football events and also collaborate in areas such as refereeing and training programs.

Domínguez, who highlighted the historical significance of this inauguration, explained that the two organizations decided to take their cooperation to a “higher strategic level.”

The first major sporting event organized by both confederations is the so -called ‘Finalissima’, a match that will face the Copa América 2021 champion, Argentina, and the Euro 2020 champion, Italy, and will be played at London’s Wembley stadium. on June 1.
