After hitting a major, followed by a two-point convert to lead 23-22 with less than a minute left in the duel, the Alouettes made an expensive penalty, paving the way for the Tiger-Cats to make a decisive investment.

The Sparrows toucheddown on their first offensive possession and headed into the locker room with a 15-10 lead. But the Tiger-Cats recorded 12 points missed after the break.

Receiver Krishawn Hogan got 11 passes for 102 yards in the loss.

Alouettes head coach, Khari Jones, decided to trust some young players and give all their time to play. The Montreal team will have to reduce their roster to 75 players by Sunday midnight.

Note that receivers Geno Lewis, Jake Wieneke and Quan Bray, running back William Stanback and quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. is all on the sideline in Hamilton.

The Sparrows will play the second and final preseason game on Friday in Montreal against the Ottawa Redblacks. They will then open the season on Thursday, June 9 against the Stampeders in Calgary.

From the first sequence of the game, Alouettes quarterback Trevor Harris saw receiver Reggie White Jr. at four yards to score the middle finger.

Along with veteran Harris, who had a total of 124 yards, Jones sent three more pivots into the fight. Davis Alexander, Dominique Davis and Ben Holmes had 106, 95 and 38 yards in the air, respectively.

Alexander was recognized on Alouettes ’other touchdown, a one-yard run.

Kicker David Côté has recovered from a bad start. After missing the conversion following the Sparrows ’first touchdown, he had three first-half field goals, respectively from 32, 31 and 37 yards.

Quarterbacks Jalen Morton and former Alouettes Matthew Shiltz scored touchdowns for the Tiger-Cats. Dane Evans also acted as pivot. Locals also manage three placements.
