The Shawinigan Cataractes won easily, 5-1 at Charlottetown

Tensions are high this Saturday for the first game of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) playoff final. The Shawinigan Cataractes won the game 5-1 against the Charlottetown Islanders. Xavier Bourgault scored two goals on his own. Daniel Renaud’s staff is leading this series towards the President’s Cup.

Early in the game, the Islanders missed several scoring opportunities. Players were fairly present in the Cataracts space, but it didn’t take much to reverse the trend.

Pierrick Dubé of Cataractes set the tone for this first game by scoring the first goal of the night. The team was then in power play where it usually worked very well.
