As in the first game of the series, the Golden State Warriors controlled a good third quarter. But unlike the first game, they finished the job.

The 35 points recorded in the third quarter allowed the Warriors to overtake the Boston Celtics 107-88 on Sunday to tie the NBA Finals series in a win-all.

I think everyone is more invested, “Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. It’s pretty obvious. Our level of intensity and power has increased, and it should.

The Warriors gave up just 14 points in the third quarter and their 2-point halftime lead was 23 points going into the fourth.

They then scored the first six points in the fourth quarter and the Celtics gave up when they brought substitutes to the floor.

Stephen Curry led the team with 29 points. Aside from Curry, four Warriors players reached the 10-point plateau. Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson (11 points), Kevon Looney (12 points) and Jordan Poole (17 points) all participated in the attack.

We said we had to play with the energy of desperation, Curry explains. That’s what we did.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics in scoring with 28 points. Jaylen Brown added 17 to the loss and Derrick White added 12.

The final continues in Boston for the next two games. The teams meet on Wednesday.
