Denis Shapovalov won his first doubles match on Tuesday, with Rohan Bopanna, at the ATP 250 grass tournament in Stuttgart.
Shapovalov and Bopanna eliminated Israeli Jonathan Erlich and Russian Aslan Karatsev in two sets of 6-4 and 6-0.
They won in 51 minutes.
The Canadian, 16a in the world, is also participating in the German singles tournament, and his first opponent will be German Oscar Otte, 61st in the world rankings.
This is their first fight.
In Nottingham, Great Britain, at the WTA 250 grass tournament, Rebecca Marino, 109th in the world, won her first match against Briton Eden Silva, 169th in the world rankings.
The Canadian won two identical sets 6-4 in 79 minutes.
Marino will face 5th in the WTA in the next round and seeded No. 1, the Greek Maria Sakkari.
