Independiente presidential candidate for the Agrupación Independiente Tradicional (AIT) group, Fabián Doman, announced that his space has filed an appeal in the House of Lomas Zamora, after confirmation of the ruling which excludes elections at the top of the list.

The presentation took place after the first instance sentence signed by judge Pablo Krawiec Krawczuk, head of Civil Number 3 of Avellaneda, which excludes from the elections the list that has, in addition to Doman, the mayor of Lanús, Néstor Grindetti, and the journalist Juan Marconi.

“In relation to the elections in @Independiente, we have just presented to @Nestorgrindetti and @marconijuan the appeal before the House, to allow us to participate with the Traditional Independent Group in the elections of the club,” announced Doman from his Twitter account.

Independent elections are postponed for five months, when the Electoral College rejected it on the basis of a series of irregularities found on the AIT cards. First, the Directorate of Legal Entities of the Province of Buenos Aires approved the decision of the Council and the candidates filed an appeal to prevent elections from being held without them.

“We trust that the response of Justice will be favorable so that @Independiente members can freely and democratically choose their authorities”, wrote Doman in a short thread on the social network.

In this way, the elections in Independiente do not have a date to be held, since the appeal will extend the terms for the elections to be held, which has two other lists able to participate: that of the ruling party and that of another opponent, Claudio Rudecindo.

Weeks ago there was an attempt that quickly failed: a unified list of the different sectors of the opposition and the ruling party, without Hugo Moyano. The idea was a trio led by Sergio Palazzo, general secretary of La Bancaria, and supported by Doman and Rudecindo himself to bring a proposal to Judge Krawiec, to unblock the elections. It did not thrive.

To elect the next president, Independiente’s members will have to wait for the response of the Justice to the appeal presented by the Doman space.
