Accidents at the Juan Gilberto Funes stadium: an Independiente Rivadavia fan died

An Independiente Rivadavia fan died this Wednesday in San Luis, after a series of comparisons that the bias of that club from Mendoza played with the local police, at the entrance of the Juan Gilberto Funes de La Punta stadium, where La Lepra lost 1-0 against Vélez at the 16th Argentine Cup final.

The operation “overflowed” when the fans of the Cuyo group “They tried to enter by force” at the north end of that scene, with the meeting started, and were turned back by police personnel, who reported at least ten injured.

In the images circulating on social networks, fans are seen forcing an entrance gate to the stadium, jumping and throwing fences and, subsequently, confronting police officers.

As indicated The Journal of the Republicfrom San Luis, police sources reported that the fan died after suffering a heart problem.

Meanwhile, according to the sanluise journalist Sergio Sosa in radio machine gunthe incidents occurred “after sympathizers raffled off the first of the three safety rings organized by the San Luis police”.

Another violent story

In mid-2021, on 28 June, Independiente Rivadavia barra brava intercepted the bus that was taking the delegation back to Mendoza from Rafaela, where La Lepra had suffered a defeat by the First National, and threatened the players.

According to police sources, the violent “stopped the bus on the street and verbally assaulted players and managers, trying to steal the clothes they had brought to Rafaela”.

The assault was perpetrated while the vehicle was taking Route 19 to go from Santa Fe to Córdoba and took place as part of a violent interior inside the brave bar, which was also upset because it was unable to enter the stadium under the official delegation.

A tight result

Vélez no longer had anything against Independiente Rivadavia, who play in a lower category than Fortín, the First National. Cacique Medina’s side prevailed thanks to a badly executed but, in the end, effective header.
