The small town of Canastota, in New York State, will dramatically welcome Floyd Mayweather Jr., Bernard Hopkins, Andre Ward and Roy Jones Jr., who will enter the front door.

Mayweather built his reputation and his fortune worth more than $ 200 million to produce an impressive and clean 50-0 record, with 27 knockouts.

Hopkins (55-8, 32 KOs) recorded 20 consecutive defenses of his middleweight title won in 1995. He also became, at age 46, the oldest world champion by defeating Jean Pascal for in the WBC light heavyweight belt.

Jones (66-9, 47 KOs) also has connections to Quebec. No fan here will forget Eric Lucas ’brave performance in June 1996 for the IBF super middleweight title. Otis Grant of Montreal also fought here in November 1998, in a duel for the WBC and WBA super-middleweight belts.

Two women will be admitted first, prepared for Laila Ali, daughter of Muhammad, and Christy Martin. He made his name in history by fighting on the undercard of some of the great duels Mike Tyson delivered.

One of the inductees, former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, will be seen in his absence, staying alongside his brother Vitali (admitted in 2018), mayor of kyiv, in Ukraine’s defense against Russia.

The last two great masses of the pantheon of noble art were canceled, knocked out. by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thus, the 2022 cohort includes 27 boxers, boxers, as well as 36 builders and personalities honored for their commitment to the boxing community.

So many people expect there that the ceremony will take place in a casino located near Canastota rather than in the pantheon itself, which is too narrow for the occasion.
