The Hall of Fame, with 30 new members

In an unusual move, the Hall of Fame welcomed 30 new recruits simultaneously, including 15 fighters. Entry ceremonies for the 2020 and 2021 classes have been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, so its members shared a ceremony on Sunday with those of 2022.

Among the new figures are the Americans Bernard Hopkins Y Roy Jones Jr.., the Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez and the Puerto Rican Miguel Cottoas well as boxers like Christy Martin and Laila Ali, daughter of the legendary Muhammad Ali.

The class of 2022 was led by Cotto, who also thanked his mother and children in a short speech.

“You were the inspiration of my life, the people who made me work in the best way for my dreams,” said Cotto, also a former world champion of four different divisions and rival of Mayweather, among others. and Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez.
